DESCRIPTION:\nWe’re kicking off the season with something a little different!\n\n\n\nWinnipeg filmmaker Kevin Nikkel joins us for a screening of his feature documentary When We Became Folk Fest, exploring the first two years of the Winnipeg Folk Festival through archival footage filmed in 1974 and 1975.\n\n\n\nThe film captures the early days of what would become an important part of Winnipeg’s cultural landscape, including Home Routes co-founder Mitch Podolak at the beginning of his career as a presenter and festival director.
