Inspiration for Power of Perseverance has come about through Olgas Krahn’ s childhood memories. Blue Ribbon coffee, and baking soda provided small collectable cards of birds, flowers, trees, and animals. Each card had a write-up of either still flourishing or even at that time was considered endangered.
Golden wheat fields, round bales, and immense prairie skies are also favourite subjects. Krahn has developed a style invoking the viewer, for a deeper longing to make our world a better place to live. She is also skilled at capturing the light of the prairie landscape and transposing to the canvas the intense colors of summer and autumn, as well as the more subtle shadings of our western winters.
