Reception: Apr. 4 @7pm
-Music by George Harold Epp

Inspiration for Power of Perseverance in Manitoba has come about through Olgas Krahn’ s childhood memories. Blue Ribbon coffee, and baking soda provided small collectable cards of birds, flowers, trees, and animals. Each card had a write-up of either still flourishing or even at that time was considered endangered.
Golden wheat fields, round bales, and immense prairie skies are also favourite subjects. Krahn has developed a style invoking the viewer, for a deeper longing to make our world a better place to live. She is also skilled at capturing the light of the prairie landscape and transposing to the canvas the intense colors of summer and autumn, as well as the more subtle shadings of our western winters.

by Ngozi Okoye

January 30 – March 1, 2025
Opening Reception: January 30 | 7:00 PM

Winkler Arts and Culture is thrilled to welcome Ngozi Okoye (or Zi for short), artist, and one of our newest board members, to the Upper Gallery with her debut exhibition in our space. After two years of serving as a classroom, the Upper Gallery reopens with Zi’s striking mixed-media works—an exploration of texture, movement, and bold, vibrant color.

Zi’s pieces are dynamic and tactile; each canvas is a layered experience, where color and structure come together beautifully.

Join us for the Opening Reception on January 30 at 7:00 PM, where you’ll have the chance to meet the artist and experience her work firsthand.

This exhibition runs until March 1, 2025.
